‘Venture’ unfolds in unfamiliar areas, capturing people and settings in real-time as I move through the environment. Despite initially feeling apprehensive about engaging with subjects, I found that conversing with them added depth to the presentation of the city, creating a more visceral experience for viewers. These portraits, along with architectural and street photography, offer insights into the city’s character, allowing viewers to understand its traits and characteristics. Confining shots of buildings draw viewers close, while street scenes provide a broader perspective, and portraits portray the city’s inhabitants, fostering a sense of familiarity and relaxation. Through ‘Venture’, viewers embark on a journey of discovery, mirroring my own process of finding comfort in unfamiliar spaces.
